The Settling

For people whose body is louder than the day they've just had.

For anyone arriving with a body that's still in the meeting that ended four hours ago. Or the flight. Or the week.

Who this is for.

You know the difference between tired and wired. Most rest doesn't touch the second one.

The Settling is for the body that can't put the day down. Still running the meeting from four hours ago. Still on the plane. Still carrying the weight of the week.
Deeply guided rest, with somatic tracking that helps your nervous system find its way back to settled.
You walk in with the week. You walk out with the body that's been waiting under it.
The hardest part of resting is letting yourself rest. We work with that, not against it.
A misty lake at first light, the quality of settling

Where this takes you.

Four moments most participants describe after the session.

Water droplets on a still surface, the texture of rest

You walk in carrying the week. The lights are low. Someone has already laid out a bolster, a blanket, an eye pillow. You don't have to do anything.

The session takes the noise out of your nervous system the way a long bath takes a hard day out of your shoulders. You leave settled, not asleep. Present, not depleted.

You go to dinner that night and notice your shoulders are still down. The body that left the session is the body that comes home with you.

You sleep harder than you've slept in weeks. The next morning, you remember what a settled nervous system feels like, and your day is built on top of that instead of underneath it.

For hotel guests, this is the antidote to a long-haul flight. For locals, it's the most useful 75 minutes of your week.

Here's how the 75 minutes unfold.

The three phases.

75 minutes. Drop-in. No prior experience needed.

01
Arrival · 15 minutes
Getting horizontal
Coming in, getting warm, settling onto the bolster. A short orientation. The body learns the room is safe. Nothing is asked of you.
By the end: the body knows it can rest here.
02
The session · 45 minutes
Guided rest with somatic tracking
A guided body scan and gentle somatic tracking, supported throughout. You don't have to perform anything. You don't have to figure anything out. The job is to receive.
By the end: a nervous system that has actually rested.
03
Integration · 15 minutes
Coming back, but settled
Coming back into the day with the body that just rested. A short take-home practice for the next time you can't sleep.
By the end: a practice you can take with you.

Gentle waves meeting the shore, restorative atmosphere

The body that was wired softens. The body that was tired arrives. They meet in the middle, and that is settled.

What to expect.

Honest notes for first-timers, so you arrive knowing what The Settling is and isn't.

Concentric ripples on a still surface
If you can't lie still.

That's actually most people in their first session. The body resists at first. We work with that. By the second half you'll likely notice the resistance has softened on its own. The room holds it, and the science backs it up: one regulated nervous system settles the others. That's polyvagal, not metaphor.

If you fall asleep.

That's fine too. If your body was tired enough to sleep through the session, it needed to. Nothing is wasted. You'll wake up settled.

If you don't know what to expect.

Nothing is asked of you. No technique to follow. No breath work to perform. You'll be guided gently. The body knows what to do with rest. The session just makes the conditions for it.

What you walk out with.

Not a workshop you have to remember. A body that already remembers it.

A minimal ocean horizon, the spaciousness of a settled nervous system
01
A settled nervous system.
Not theoretically. Actually. The body that walked in is not the body that walks out. You can feel the difference. So can the people you see afterwards.
02
Better sleep that night.
Most first-timers report it. The nervous system has been somewhere it usually doesn't get to go. Sleep follows. So does the next morning.
03
A take-home practice.
One simple thing you can do at home, on a flight, before bed. Something short, something specific. So you don't need the session to do it. You just remember what it taught you.

About me.

The work is somatic. The frame is nervous system. The voice is mine.

Faith Lantz, somatic wellness practitioner, Hong Kong

I'm Faith Lantz, a somatic wellness practitioner based in Central, Hong Kong. I'm a certified Biodynamic and Upledger Craniosacral Therapist, a certified Rebirthing Breathwork practitioner, and I'm completing a 3-year professional training in Somatic Experiencing, the gold standard in trauma resolution, developed by Dr. Peter Levine.

I built The Settling for the version of myself who used to land in Hong Kong after fourteen hours in the air, get into bed at 1am, and lie there with a body that was both wired and exhausted. There was nothing in the city that touched that specific kind of stuck. So I made it.

The Settling works for jet-lagged hotel guests. It works for parents who have been on duty all day. It works for people whose week has been louder than their nervous system can hold. It works because the body knows how to rest. It just needs the conditions, and a room that knows how to hold them.

Trained, experienced, in practice.

The science behind the work, the training behind the practice.

The science.

The Settling is grounded in polyvagal theory, interoception research, and the body-based trauma work of Peter Levine, Bessel van der Kolk, Stephen Porges, and Gabor Maté. The science is real. The practice is what makes it land in your body.

The training.

Certified Biodynamic and Upledger Craniosacral Therapist. Certified Rebirthing Breathwork practitioner. Completing the 3-year professional training in Somatic Experiencing, the gold standard in trauma resolution. Active practice in Central, Hong Kong.
